Annapurna
Conservation Area Project: |

This is the most popular trekking area in
the mountain region. The area covers 7629 sq.km. With a
trekking circuit- from mid hills 790m. to the Himalayas.
Annapurna conservation project has been running its program
in the area with an aim to integrate nature conservation and
local community. This idea is looked up as a model project
for conservation all over the world. This is the area where
you will see many examples of successful eco tourism. A part
from the natural sites, the area is equally rich with flora
and fauna, innumerable sights of waterfalls, mountains,

Shivapuri
National Park: |

The park is situated in the hill of
Shivapuri to the north of Kathmandu. This is an easily
accessible destination for viewing orchids, rhododendrons,
pines, utisa trees as well as many medicinal and herbal
plants rising to a height of 2732m. And covering an area of
144sq. km. Shivapuri is home to the sloth bear, langur
monkey, leopard, barking deer and species of birds |

Makalu –Barun
National Park and conservation Area: |
The Park an area of 1,500 sq. km. and the
conservation area covers 830sq. km. The entire area extends
from subtropical forests to high alpine vegetation. The
region has 67species of aromatic and medicinal plants, 25of
Nepali’s 30 varieties of rhododendron, 15 types of oak and
48 species of primrose. Over 400 species of birds thrive
here, including the newly- discovered (in Nepal) spotted
wren babbler and the olive ground babbler. Wildlife includes
the endangered red panda, musk deer, Himalayan black bear,
clouded leopard and possibly the snow leopard too.
Bird Watching: - Nepal is a bird watcher’s paradise with
over 800 species (almost 10% of the world total) of birds.
Almost 600 out of them are found in the wetlands and open
fields inside the Kathmandu valley. Nepal is indeed a
paradise for birds with over 800 species recorded
representation 10% of the worlds population in just a tiny
fraction of the earth’s land mass. The most popular bird
watching spot is the phulchoki hill, the highest ridge on
the valley rim situated 20km. Southeast of Kathmandu, with
some 265 species recorded till date, the Shivapuri National
Park, situated 11km. To the north of Kathmandu, is another
exciting location bird watching excursion trip provides
panoramic mountain views and glimpses of wild animals.
